The oldest race on the circuit, it will be hotly contested as a World Championship event for the 70th time. Lewis Hamilton, whose four-year winning streak at home was broken by Sebastian Vettel last year, shares the record of five British GP titles with Alain Prost and Jim Clark. All the practice rounds and the qualifying battle will also be broadcast live on SuperSport on Friday and Saturday.

Football: Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday 14 and Wednesday 17 July on SuperSport 4 (204) at 17:00 and 20:00
Elation will erupt in two African countries on Sunday night 14 July. And utter disappointment will wash over football fans in two other counties immediately after the semi-finals of Africa’s showpiece tournament. Supporters of all the other teams that have been competing in Egypt since 21 June will then join them to watch live TV coverage of the third-place playoff on 17 July. The final is scheduled to start at 20:50 at the Cairo International Stadium on the 19th.

Golf: John Deere Classic on 12, 13 and 14 July on SuperSport 1 (201) at 22:00, 19:30 and 19:00
When Tyrone van Aswegen and Dylan Frittelli arrive in Silvis, Illinois, this week, they will be reminded that another South African, David Frost, won the John Deere Classic in 1992 and 1993; by three and seven shots respectively. They will also hope to earn much more than he did, even if they do not win. Frost received US$180 000 for each of those victories. When Michael Kim won last year, he earned more than US$1m. SuperSport is also broadcasting the Scottish Open this weekend.
